Concert Details

The 4th Graders of Francis Wyman Elementary are proud to present their Spring Concert!

Please join us on May 6th at 6:00 pm for a winter performance by the 4th grade chorus and band students.

Our band and chorus members have been working hard and are looking forward to performing for their friends, family and classmates! There are only two concerts during the year, so please make every effort to attend.

Reporting times-
4th grade BAND members- 5:45 pm to Small Music room
4th grade CHORUS members (those who are not in the band)- 5:50 pm to Mrs. Peabody’s music room

BAND members are to leave their instruments and music in the small music classroom after school for the evening performance. Instruments and music are to be taken home after the evening concert.

Dress- More information to come

All coats and belongings should stay with the parent or family member in the auditorium during the performance.

PIRATES COSTUME INFO AND PROPS

Dear 5th grade parents,

We are very excited for our upcoming performance of Pirate’s 2, The Hidden Treasure! We have been working very hard in class and are looking forward to our show on the evening of Wednesday, May 6th, 2015 at 7 pm. We also need some help from you! Our goal is not to have parents buy lots of things, but rather collect from what they already have.

SETS/STAGE DESIGN-
If you have any of the following items you would be willing to donate, lend or make, please let us know, or send in the items with your child.
Ships Helm
Treasure chest
Brooms
Large wooden barrels
Coiled rope
Crates
Chains
King and Queen Crown
Palm trees

Please label any items you would like returned. We will be returning items soon after the show.

COSTUMES suggestions/ideas-
All 5th grade Chorus members and dancers are encouraged to create their own pirate costume for this show. Things like
eye patches bandanas
a pirate hook hoop earrings
a pirate hat… are all encouraged. Please have your child label all of their personal belongings. If you have extras, please lend to a friend if needed. It is not expected that your child dress like a pirate, but encouraged. If they are more comfortable wearing a tshirt and jeans then please do.
Costume items do not need to be sent to school until the week of April 27th. More details to follow…
If your child has a specific role/ actor part with speaking lines please have them refer to the following list of costume ideas-

Specific role/ actor parts costume ideas-

Natives- Hawaiian shirts, native grass skirts, shells, Hawaiian leis, etc.

King of the High C’s- same pirate costume as the chorus, but with added accents such as a cape, a staff, and a crown.

Queen of the High C’s-same pirate costume as the chorus, but with added accents such as a cape, a staff, and a crown.

All bearded pirates (i.e. blue beard, red beard, orange beard, etc.)- Using cotton balls or yarn or felt please create your colored beard. Try to have matching accessories to match your color beard. Examples would be a blue bandana for blue beard. If you have questions about this, please email or call us and we’ll give you advice.

Captain- Captain hat, sailor uniform, etc.

First Mate- striped shirt, skull cap, cut off pants

Calico Jack- Jack Sparrow wig, etc.

Intro and Thank you pirates- please refer to the Chorus pirate costume ideas.

Dancers-please refer to the Chorus pirate costume ideas.

Stage Crew- please refer to the Chorus pirate costume ideas.
